Secrecy in Mississippi
Newspapers across the state have partnered with The Associated Press and Mississippi Center for Freedom of Information to produce a series of articles and photos examining the good, the bad and the downright ugly when it comes to transparency in government.
To highlight the pervasiveness of this problem, the package is being made available to all newspapers through AP and the Mississippi Press Association.
The content will be available to all our member newspapers, including non-dailies and non-AP members.
The series will appear over consecutive days in daily member newspapers during the week of Jan. 24-30. Non-dailies and weeklies are encouraged to run as much material as their newshole allows over consecutive issues. The package will include reports from various communities and newspapers, commentary columns and a series graphic. For more information on the project, contact: Layne Bruce, executive director, 601-981-3060, or via email, lbruce@mspress.org.
