Posted

The CFINR Prize for Objectivity and Integrity in Reporting was created in 2025. The new $5,000 cash award is made possible by a $210,000 grant from the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation to the Center For Integrity in News Reporting, which is in turn establishing the  prize in 14 Southeastern states.

Winners of the prize are selected on the basis of their objectivity, fairness, and integrity in reporting.

The prize joins the list of traditional news contest categories for the 2025 cycle. CFINR was founded in 2024 by Walter E. Hussman, Jr., chairman of WEHCO Media, Inc., which operates 11 daily newspapers and cable television companies across six states.
